We will depart from our pick-up point early in the morning and head towards the countryside of Cotswold. Our first stop will be charming village of Bibury, a wonderfully attractive setting along the River Coln and a backdrop for blockbuster films including Stardust and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Take a stroll along the wonderful cottages of Arlington Row, the quaint group of weaver’s cottages dating back to the 16th Century. Visit to the Trout Farm is recommended especially if you have children, they can enjoy feeding the trout while you enjoy the tea and cake in the terrace café.
Then it’s on to Bourton-on-the-Water, otherwise known as the ‘Venice of Cotswold’ and regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England with its gorgeous bridges that cross the gently flowing River Windrush. Visit to the Model Village is a must and if you are a car enthusiast then visit to the Motoring Museum is well worth it. Spend time to have your lunch break here with various options of cafes in the magnificent town.
We finally head towards the historical city of Oxford, in central southern England, revolves around its prestigious university, established in the 12th century. The architecture of its 38 colleges in the city’s medieval centre led poet Matthew Arnold to nickname it the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’. University College and Magdalen College are off the High Street, here enjoy free time before heading back to London.
Passengers should arrive at their pick up point no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Your pick up point, address and time will be stated on your invoice. Passengers arriving late will need to make the necessary arrangements to meet the coach at the next suitable location.
Star Tours operate a luggage handling service under which the driver will load and unload one piece of luggage per person from the coach (weighing up to a maximum of 20kg, and not exceeding dimensions of 90 x 75 x 43cm / 35.5 x 29.5 x 16ins). Passengers’ will have to carry their luggage to and from the coach to the hotel room.
In addition, you can also carry one piece of small hand luggage (weighing up to a maximum of 7kg, and not exceeding dimensions of 20 x 20 x 48 cm / 8 x 8 x 19 inches), which can fit under their seat or in the overhead compartment.
If you check in extra baggage, or baggage beyond the limits outlined here an additional fee of £5 per bag per day will apply (subject to availability). Any baggage deemed to large will need to be placed in the locker. All baggage is kept on the coach at owner’s risk.
Car seats are not provided on coaches but passengers should carry car seats with travelling infants for comfort and safety.
Coaches and Hotel rooms may not have an option to heat up baby milk it is therefore the passengers’ responsibility to make sure of necessary arrangements for any children and infants in their group. Milk and baby food cannot be provided by the hotel or restaurants and passengers are advised to carry ready to drink milk whilst on tour. Dry food is allowed on the so please feel free to bring snacks for children.
Pushchairs can be kept in the baggage lockers of the coach, although size restrictions may apply.
Wheelchairs
We will accept light weight manual wheelchairs for travel, subject to them being capable of being stowed in the luggage hold of the coach. It is also essential that a family member is also on the tour to push their wheelchair. Star Tour’s will also request hotels for suitably equipped rooms; however, this is only on a request basis and cannot be guaranteed.
In most of Europe, the use of child seats in coaches is mandatory for children under the age of 12 or who are shorter than 150 cm. Children under 7 years old or less than 125 cm tall must use a child seat with a harness or a restraint system. Children between 7 and 12 years old or between 125 and 150 cm tall must use a booster seat or a seat cushion. It is the responsibility of the child’s parent or guardian to provide the appropriate child seat for their child.
Professional drivers and reps accompany our tours throughout the itinerary. Please note that this is not a guided tour, and only includes transfers.
Please remember our staff cannot take requests for any seats. Seat numbers will be given to you, on day one of your tour. Passengers with children in their group will not be seated near the front due to EU regulations & company policy. No requests for seats are taken. Medical grounds for a seat are not taken into consideration as all seats offer the same comfort level.
An important point to note whilst on a touring holiday is that some long journeys are unavoidable especially when travelling from city to city. Star Tours’ recommend passenger’s wear comfortable clothing. It is advisable passengers carry necessities that they may need for the day such as water, dry snacks, cameras etc. with them in their hand luggage.
Also on the first and last day passengers must carry their passports in their hand luggage as passports will be needed in immigration.
Star Tours strongly recommends you purchase travel insurance. Passengers are advised not to carry unnecessary valuables and to be vigilant at all times at tourist spots, as well as hotels and coach. Travel insurance is recommended for all individuals travelling.
